About this event
Make a unique quilted hat for yourself or for a holiday gift!
This is a 4 hour workshop making a quilted hat from start to finish. The hat is one size with adjustable straps. Each participant will need to purchase either (1) the paper pattern (normally $10 with a 20% discount code) or (2) AccuQuilt die. The pattern and discount code will become available as we get closer to the workshop date.

Maximum: 20 participants; $42 per person
Please bring to the workshop:
- your sewing machine
- a fat quarter (or 1/4 yard) for the outside shell of the hat
- a fat quarter (or 1/4 yard) for the lining of the hat
- a 10" x 10" piece of fabric or quilt block for the front panel of the hat (see below for more detail on the front panel)
- a marking tool to trace the pattern onto your fabric (pencil, frixion pen... )
- pins and clips
- size 16/100 sewing machine needle (or denim needle)
- 40 wt thread either polyester or poly/cotton
- awl (there will be one available to share but if you bring your own you won't have to wait your turn)
- the usual notions (seam ripper, scissors, etc)
Supplied by the instructor:
- ultra firm stabilizer for the brim
- fusible interfacing
- hook and loop tape (velcro)
- chopsticks
- tailor's ham

The front panel of the hat will showcase your unique hat. Either bring a piece of fabric 10"x10" which you will quilt in the workshop to the instructor-provided foam OR you may piece your fabric any way you want (i.e. 9 patch or flying geese or log cabin, etc) and bring that to quilt in class. OR if you want do your own fancy quilting at home you may quilt your piece to foam such as By Annie's Soft & Stable and bring it.
